The Championships, Wimbledon — held each year at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in SW19 — is the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. For two weeks each June and July, London's attention turns to the perfectly striped grass of the Centre Court, to the queue that winds around the grounds in the early morning, and to the particular ritual of strawberries and cream that has accompanied the Championships since the 1870s.
