Henley Royal Regatta — held each July on a straight mile of the Thames at Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire — is the oldest and most prestigious rowing competition in the world. Founded in 1839, the Regatta is as famous for its social atmosphere — the Stewards' Enclosure, the picnic hampers, the champagne on the riverbank — as for the racing itself.
The journey from London to Henley-on-Thames is approximately one hour by private car — west through Richmond and out along the A4 and A321. In a quietly moving vehicle, with the racing to look forward to and the Thames at the journey's end, it is among the more pleasurable drives of the English summer.
Mayfair & City Carriages has been providing Henley chauffeur service since 1981 — our third year of Season operations. We know the enclosure entrances, the best approach routes during the Regatta, and the timing that brings you to the riverbank precisely as the morning's racing begins.
